The mouse and his friends

We’ve been secretly planning a trip to Disney World for about 6 months. We didn’t want to tell the kids too soon because we didn’t want them to spend the summer building up unreasonable expectations about the magical place. Well, now we’re two weeks away and we’re having a hard time keeping the secret. We’ve decided to tell them one week before we go, but I’ve been giving them subtle little hints for the last few days.

They really don’t know much about Disney, other than what they’ve seen in advertisements on the Disney Channel. Grant has always been one to repeat things that he hears on TV, so we’ve heard him spouting off little blurbs about Disney many times.

The other day we were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse together and I said to Grant, “Wouldn’t it be fun to meet Mickey and all his friends?” Grant responded, “yeah, if only they were real.” Then he added, “We should go to the Disney Studios in Orlando, Florida to see if they are really there.”

LOL. Disney really gets into their heads. At age 4, my son said he had to watch Hannah Montana at “7-6 Central”
