happy hatch day

It recently occurred to me that I had never formally introduced our parrot, Frasier. He’s a Meyer’s parrot, one of the smaller birds in the parrot family, only a little larger than a cockatiel. We’ve had him since he was a baby. He hatched two years ago today, so I thought this would be a good time to write about him.

He’s really a good bird most of the time, and quiet – for a parrot anyway. So far the only word he can say is his name, but he imitates just about every other sound he hears, from all the kitchen appliances to the kids screaming.  His cage is in our school room, so I’m just waiting for the day he can say the alphabet. He can put a hole in your shirt faster than you can blink, and he’ll put one in your finger too if you don’t ask his permission to pet him 🙂 .

Happy Hatch Day Frasier!!
